One COVID-19 mobile testing location to close after Oct. 7

October 7, 2020

Since August, Whatcom Unified Command (WUC) and the Whatcom County Health Department (WCHD) have partnered to provide community-wide low barrier testing for COVID-19 in seven locations around the county.

One of those locations, at Christ Fellowship Church in Everson, will no longer be available for testing after Wednesday, Oct. 7. The church is set to begin some remodeling work that will eliminate the space currently used for testing.

“Christ Fellowship has been a great partner in COVID-19 testing,” said WUC Incident Commander Scott McCreery. “We appreciate the support they’ve provided since community testing began.”

To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, it is vital to provide testing five days per week. Testing provides results within 24-36 hours, so that if a person receives a positive test result,  close contacts can be notified in order to minimize the spread of the coronavirus.

Community testing continues to be available in Blaine, Ferndale, Deming, Lynden, and Bellingham. Appointments may be scheduled online at www.TestDirectly.com/whatcom or by calling the Test Access Scheduling line, (360) 778-6075 between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

For any updates to the testing schedule or locations, please monitor this website, whatcomcounty.us/covidtesting, or the Health Department Facebook page.
