COVID-19 mobile testing in Lynden closed Friday morning due to wind forecast

September 24, 2020

Bellingham, WA – Due to gale-force wind projections, Whatcom Unified Command (WUC) has decided to close the morning session of drive-through testing operations for Friday Sept. 25.

The National Weather Service issued a high wind advisory through Friday morning, which would create unsafe conditions for mobile testing.

The testing scheduled for tomorrow, from 9 a.m. to noon at Bender Fields, 8770 Bender Rd in Lynden, is cancelled. At this time, WUC is planning to hold testing Friday afternoon, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sikh Temple on East Pole Road in Lynden, as scheduled.

Those whose appointments are cancelled will be notified and encouraged to register for a testing appointment via www.testdirectly.com/whatcom for Friday afternoon or another time.

At this time, Whatcom Unified Command is planning to hold COVID-19 testing tomorrow afternoon from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sikh Temple in Lynden as scheduled.

Those who have been notified to quarantine or isolate pending completion of COVID testing are requested to continue proper quarantine or isolation protocols until completion of a COVID test and receipt of negative testing results.

For any changes to the testing schedule please monitor this website – whatcomcounty.us/covidtesting – or the Health Department Facebook page.
